Ministry of Agriculture investigate some violations of work permits

JORDAN— The Ministry of Agriculture is investigating a number of violations reported in relation to corruption in issuing work permits to migrant workers.

A ministry spokesperson said investigations are on going to verify the reports received, noting that Akef Zubi, minister of agriculture has directed concerned authorities, six months ago, to look into the workers issue and to work in collaboration with the labour ministry and audit bureau.

The ministry has also referred a number of violation cases to the Attorney General, after being discovered by the ministrys internal monitoring department.
