EGYPT- Ghazl El-Mahalla Textile Factory management in al-Mahalla area referred eight trade union leaders to an administrative investigation, under pretext that they were involved in inciting workers and disrupting the production. This development took place against backdrop of the four-day strike last week, where company’s workers called for their share in the fiscal year 2013/2014 earnings, for speeding up company’s development plans, and opening files of corruption. The trade unionists who were referred to the administrative investigation, were Faisal Lagoucha, Naji Haider, Wael Habib, Jamal Gad, and Reda Abu Amira.
Total of 25 thousand workers on strike, were forced to resolve their strike on Saturday, when they were countered by another group of workers who were loyal to the management and carried some tools in their bid to hurt those who called for the strike.
