LEBANON- Trade union, civil, social, women, youth and community organizations and federations held a meeting at headquarters of the National Federation of Unions for Workers and Employees in Lebanon to discuss the need to reduce prices on consumer commodities and services to be in line with drop in fuel prices.
The participants denounced absence of a government’s position on need to relief prices hike and rampant corruption, and called for need to lobby the government in a bid to maintain a balance and reduce the prices on consumer goods and services to be in line with significant drop (by over 40%) in fuel prices.
Participants agreed to intensify contacts with affected groups because of these policies and warned against taking any decisions affecting interests of citizens and their livelihood.
