IRAQ— Hundreds of workers at the state-run General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI) protected in a call for better employment rights.
Protesters called on the government to allocate housing lands for them and give the employment priority for their family members after their retirement.
They said they met with the transport minister and promised to meet their demands.
Workers at some shipment companies also joined the protest calling for renewing their companies contracts to continue working in the port.
