Moroccan central trade unions mark May as a month of protests

MOROCCO— Three Moroccan trade unions have set a program for strikes and sectoral labour marches, to mark May as a month of protests calling for better rights.

The trade unions that are that are the Moroccan Labour Union, Labour Democratic Confederation, and Labour Democratic Federation, stressed in a statement, published by the Moroccan newspapers, that they decided to protest after several meetings they had in Casablanca.

The said trade unions also decided to adopt the principle of complaint against the Moroccan government to the International Labour Organization in Geneva for its violations of the International Convention No. 98 concerning collective bargaining, and the International Convention No. 144 that related to tripartite consultations.
