Tunisian Union threatens to protest

TUNISIA –General Union of Tunisian Workers has threatened to organize an “anger day” in May 1 (Labor Day) in case no agreement is reached with government regarding employees’ raise.
The Union said, earlier negotiations with government have failed, as they called for a raise that is no less than 70 Tunisian Dinars, while government suggested 45 Tunisian Dinars.

In a statement to the media, Sami Taheri, president of General Union of Tunisian Workers called on the government to fulfill its promises and enact agreements with representatives of several sectors to avoid the planned protests.
