JORDAN- Jordanian Minister of Labor and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nidal Qatamin stated that 6467 migrant workers of all nationalities were deported in 2014.
Qatamin expressed hope that 2015 would be a model year in terms of strict policy that was adopted by the Ministry in its bid to regulate labor market through intensifying inspection campaigns and find mechanism to support efforts of inspectors in controlling unlicensed labor as well as regular ration reassessment for migrant workers that are allowed in private sectors, with an emphasis on Ministry seriousness campaigns to find employment for Jordanian nationals, especially for female workers.
