LIBYA— Libyan interim government issued a decree on Saturday, preventing the entry of Bangladeshi workers from all entries.
Hatem Oraibi, spokesman for the Libyan government, explained that the decision was made for security reasons, as a large number of workers from Bangladesh are trying to migrate illegally to Europe through Libya.
He added that the decision to prevent the entry of Bengali employment comes within the framework of the governments efforts to combat illegal immigration to Europe.
Few weeks ago, around 900 illegal immigrants died after their boat sank off the Italian coast, which prompted the EU to strengthen its efforts to combat the phenomenon of clandestine immigration.
