Workers at Misr-Iran Textile Company continue their strike

EGYPT — Around 2,000 workers of the Misr-Iran textiles company continued their strike that started 18 days ago, halting production at the companys six plants.

 A statement issued by the striking workers on Thursday said they were supposed to receive profits and delayed raises in June, but it was postponed by the manager who promised payment in September.

The academic year is about to commence, and we were relying on our delayed payments to cover our childrens school expenses, one of the striking workers told the media.
