GFOTU reach a settlement agreement with one of the country’s Development Company

OMAN— The General Federation of Oman Trade Unions (GFOTU) has agreed with one of the development companies that operates a tourism project to settle demands of its workers and to dispense workers’ salaries without delay.

They agreed that the company should transfer workers’ wages to banks no later than the fifth day of each month and to pay them for January 2016, as they have not been paid yet.

As for the “periodic raise”, the GFOTU said it should be granted as per law, stressing that last year’s 2% raise should be disbursed retroactively.

Both parties agreed that, if the company does not fulfill its promises, workers can complain at the “labor department”.
