JORDAN— A joint committee was formed to study demands of the Jordan Abyad Fertilizers and Chemicals Company’s (JAFCCO) employees, said Abdullah Obeidat, head of the Lower House of Parliament labor and social development committee.
In a meeting held by the Parliamentary committee yesterday, Obeidat said the joint committee will comprise representatives of the ministry of labor, mining workers union and the company.
Nidal Katamine, Minister of Labor, said the employees’ demands are legitimate, stressing the need to protect their rights.
For his part, Khaled Fanatsah, head of mining workers union briefed the committee on the workers’ demands that include disbursing the saving fund dues, the 13th and 14th salaries and the extra work payments.
