ATUC organizes a seminar on the impact of international financial policies on workers

MOROCCO— The Arab Trade Union Confederation (ATUC) hosted a seminar on “the policies of the International financial institutions and their impact on labour and living standards of workers and social dialogue” in Casablanca, Morocco.

The two-day session organized in cooperation with Fredrich Ebert Stiftung, focuses on the impact of the global financial policies on workers’ living standards and social dialogue in the Arab region.

Several work papers on different issues will be presented by Arab and international experts. Subjects of these papers include the reality of work, wages, living conditions and the social dialogue in the region.

In addition, a paper on the international labour standards in the global economy will be presented. Also a session that showcase the experience of the ILO and ITUC will be held.

The seminar will also include a session on workers’ rights, lifting subsidies on food and energy and the compensatory mechanism in the region.

The seminar will be included with a number of recommendations on the issues that will be discussed in the two days.
