PALESTINE—The Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions (PGFTU) called on the Israeli government to revisit the updates introduced to the “shooting regulations” implemented by the Israeli military troops and civilians.
Shaher Saad, secretary general of PGFTU said these regulations is the reason for increasing the number of Palestinian victims who are killed by Israeli fire.
These demands came in a letter sent to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and the ILO Director Guy Ryder in addition to the ITUC General Secretary Sharan Burrow.
In his letter, Saad noted that the regulations endorsed by the Israeli right wing government are very dangerous and allows Israelis to shoot on Palestinians regardless of their age or gender.
He called on these agencies to act immediately and provide protection for Palestinians and workers to allow reach their work places safely.
