EGYPT— Teachers’ associations and the Independent Trade Union in Egypt protested today and called for the resignation of the Minister of Education.
The protest is organized on September 10, which is marked as the Techer’s Day in Egypt. In addition, protesters called on the Teachers’ Association president to resign and to conduct urgent elections, in addition to excluding teachers from the Civil Service Law.
Other demands include raising salaries of educators by 15 per cent to reach 3,000 E.L, and to appoint temporarily appointed teachers to reduce number of Egyptian expat teachers.
