ALGERIA— The Ministry of Education issued directives ordering its directorates to prepare lists of names for trainee teachers who were on strike over the past few days, to dismiss and replace them with new staff teachers.
News reports said that the education directorates have already started implementing the order of dismissing striking teachers of those who refused to resume their work.
Although some of the trainee teachers abided by the ministry’s call and resumed their work fearing the loss of their jobs, the majority have rejected this all and continued demanding to be included within the employment system.
They also stressed that they will continue their hunger strike until their demands are met.
