Jordan: Electricity Workers to Hold Protest next Saturday

Jordan – The General Trade Union of Workers in Electricity announced intention to hold protests next Saturday, inferring in a statement, Monday, to further escalation should the government not meet the Union’s demands to raise basic salaries for workers, doubling expertise rate and promotion, fixing annual increase rates and deductibles for gross salaries for savings.

Moreover, the statement elaborates on the suspension of strike among workers at the Irbid electricity company, that it was a prioritization of national interests, granted time for the new government formation put together a plan to meet worker rights, totalling at around 900 workers in electricity registered with the Union.

Association President Ali  AlHadid said that this protest is followed by a strike to express our dissatisfaction with the companys management and the way they ignore the worker’s demands.
