Saudi – The Saudi Foreign Affairs Ministry announced on Saturday its intention to deport more than 20 thousand Egyptian citizens who are over 35 years old; however, the Saudi Shura Council could raise it to the age of forty.
A source in the ministry said to the local press: Saudi Shura Council decided to reduce Egypts employment rate, which has seen increasing numbers lately; by deporting expats who are over forty years old, the decision will also stop the renewal of residence and employment contracts for all category license, and possibly deport all migrate categories from Saudi Arabia.
The ministry added that the main reason that may make the Council of Ministers reject the proposal, aside from the concern on relations with countries that have large number of nationals in the kingdom, like Egypt, is that the government is not willing to see major national projects which employs Egyptians over 40 years, stop.
Saudi adviser Prince Nayef bin Qahtan said, although the Shura Council approved this resolution by more than half, it will not be implemented until it has been studied by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince in collaboration with the Chairman of the Shura Council, and the Saudi foreign minister.
