Egypt- Center for Trade Union and Workers Services said that security forces abducted six staff of General Transport Authority, from their homes, last Friday, without being brought before the public prosecutor and their families know where they are held.
The workers are Tareq Mustafa, Tareq Buhairy, Ayman Mahmoud, Mohammad Farghali, Mohammad Awadallah, Ahmad Mahmoud.
Public transportation workers had made several demands, including increasing production bonuses by up to 17 percent of current rates, as well as increasing other types of bonus.
The center declared in its statement its full solidarity with the legitimate demands of the workers; it also declared its solidarity with the arrested workers and their families.
The center also said that this incident is extremely dangerous not only because it violates the Egyptian constitution which stipulated that no citizen should not be detained for more than 12 an hour before being presented to the public prosecutor, He/she may not be subject to investigation except in the presence of his attorney. But also because what happened bring back Dawn Visit policy, what happened is unconstitutional and it is called kidnapping and whoever did this should be punished.
