Iraq: Health Professions Union decides to boycott Province Health Department

Iraq – Health Professions Union in Muthanna province decided today to boycott the Province Health Department and stop cooperate with them until they change the current administration.

The Union accused the department of exclusion” by directing insults and punishments to employees of the union, and demanded the government to change the administration because of poor performance.

The union’s chairman Hilal Hasan said that the health department in Muthanna province is trying to exclude the health professions of all the administrations decision and try to end the partnership between the health professions and the medical professions that started many years ago, as well as inflict acts of injustice on employees.

Hasan also asked the government to change the current administration as soon as possible and choose a professional management to solve all the problems of the current administration and end hostilities between the employees and prevent the administrative to use its position for personal benefits

The province of Muthanna, based in the city of Samawah, has seen many sit-ins for the health professions union. Many of Iraqs provinces, including the capital Baghdad also witnessed, over the past years, several demonstrations by health profession union to demand their legal rights.
