فلسطين: الافراج عن أصغر أسيرة فلسطينية

Israel released on Sunday a 12-year-old girl, the youngest Palestinian captive, after she was held in prison for 2-1/2 months.

Dima Al-Wawi, who is from the town of Halhoul near Hebron, appeared to be in shock and could not answer the journalists’ questions, while the mayor tried to calm her down and showed her that the crowed were there to show support.
Al Wawi was arrested for allegedly planning to stab Israelis in the Hebron area. She was sentenced to 4 1/2 months in prison and fined 8,000 Shekels ($2,000).
Last weekend, Israeli authorities informed her family she would be released on Sunday. She was handed over to her family at the Jbarrah checkpoint near Tulkarem. A total of 450 Palestinian children under 16 are still held in Israeli prisons.
