The General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions was established in 1954 and includes 16 general unions covering several key sectors such as transportation, health, agriculture, and public services. It is the main body representing Palestinian workers at the local, Arab, and international levels.
The federation has branches across all governorates of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to nine branches abroad. The General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions is one of the founding members of the Arab Trade Union Confederation.
