The Coordination Committee decided to escalate in protest against the government’s silence and its disregard for the demands of 15,285 workers in this category. The urban workers are calling for the implementation of the agreement of October 20, 2020, and the start of tenure or voluntary dismissal procedures.
It is worth noting that the agreement of October 20, 2020 between the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) and the Presidency of the Government provides for the settlement of the status of urban workers over the age of 45 and under 55 years, on annual payments, or by granting a departure leave to those of them who choose to leave voluntarily.
