According to the newspaper Huelva, which published the news, the files of seasonal workers in the city of Fez were selected from among 1,400 requests to work in Huelva, through the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Competencies.
It is expected that the number of women workers for the strawberry season in Huelva fields will reach 15,000 seasonal female workers, an increase of 5,000 female workers compared to the last season.
It is worth noting that the agricultural associations in Spain estimated that the number of Moroccan seasonal workers in the fields of Huelva is insufficient and that the fields’ labour needs exceed that.
