The agreement, signed on 22 November, is part of a pilot programme that will start at the beginning of 2023, to meet the needs of the agricultural sector in Greece. It provides for a right of residence in Greece for nine months.
Citing the Greek Foreign Ministry, Euronews reported that the agreement could serve as a “guiding” criterion for future agreements between Greece and the European Union (EU) on the one hand and third countries on the other, to combat irregular migration.
