Lebanon: Private School Teachers’ Syndicate calls on banks to cash cheques for the payment of teachers and pensioners

In a letter addressed to the Governor of the Bank of Lebanon and to the Lebanese Banks Association, the syndicate stressed that it bears, through the Pension Fund, “the responsibility for the pensions of more than 50,000 families.”

The syndicate added that banks also refuse to open accounts for teachers in public schools, which makes their payment cheques void, calling for a solution to be found quickly.
