Morocco: CDT criticizes the government’s revision of the income tax

In this context, on October 19, the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT) expressed its rejection of the government’s proposal to review the income tax, which it considers only a partial revision.

According to the confederation, the new revision will not introduce any tangible impacts on protecting the purchasing power of workers and retirees in light of the successive increases in the prices of basic materials and the rise in inflation rates. In this regard, CDT demands a real revision of the tax that align with the current social and economic conditions.

CDT called for the approval of a general increase of salaries, urging the government to fulfil its obligations in a way that would spare the country social tension.
