The Ministry of Agriculture Workers’ Union said it presented thirteen points of demands (administrative and financial), including an increase in salaries, which currently do not exceed, at best, 47,000 pounds. The workers are demanding a minimum wage of £500,000.
The strike is part of a series of protests in the public sector and civil service in Sudan on the low salaries and deteriorating purchasing power.
