Jordan: Unemployed workers protest on top of a communication tower

The protesters explained that they had to organise a sit-in because the local authorities did not commit to their previous agreement of recruitment. In this context, they claimed that they were prevented from contacting senior government officials, which led them to protest from the top of the tower.

The Tamkeen Association for Legal Aid and Human Rights has been monitoring the protest and has reported that the health of one of the protesters has deteriorated as a result of the hunger strike by the entire group. The young man was taken to hospital.
