Oman: Human rights NGO warns of human trafficking with sub-Saharan women workers

Do Bold said that 78% of the 469 Sierra Leonean workers interviewed said they had been hired fraudulently while 80% said they work between 16 and 20 hours a day. The NGO added that the majority of them work in conditions similar to forced labour because of the kefala system in Oman.

According to the Do Bold report, Oman has failed to protect female migrant domestic workers, who are trafficked and subjected to physical and sexual violence.
