In a statement issued after a protest organized by the union’s president and representatives of 13 syndicates, the organisation called for a 67% salary increase to be applied to all companies under the national oil company, threatening to launch a strike if the decision-makers do not give allow negotiations.
Oil and gas workers in Libya do not consider their salaries to be fair, especially as they perform difficult and dangerous work.
