The Qatari authorities had arrested some of the workers who took part in a demonstration on 14 August 2022, accusing them of violating public security laws, but did not provide any details about their deportation or stay.
It is worth noting that around 60 workers protested in Doha and blocked traffic in front of the Al Bandary company headquarters, calling for the payment of their salaries. Some of the workers were not been paid for seven months, according to what was reported on 22 August by the organisation Akidem, the NGO for workers’ rights based in London.
