Jordan: Unemployment rates drop in the first quarter of 2022

The report indicated that the unemployment rate among graduates from universities has increased, reaching 26.6%, compared to other educational levels. It showed that 52.3% of the total unemployed are holders of secondary school certificates and above, while the percentage of unemployed people with educational qualifications less than secondary education is 47.1%.

Commenting on these data, the director of the Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies considered that this is an expected decline due to the return of all sectors to work without restrictions, after two years ago of the pandemic, noting that this percentage nonetheless remains very high. The director of the Phenix Center mentioned that the rates and levels of natural and internationally accepted unemployment range between 3% and 5%.
