In a media statement, the union president said that hospital employees are unable to withdraw their salaries because of the limit set by the banks while the owners want to pay salaries in cash. The union leader called for the protection of the workers’ rights and warned against the risk of collective migration of medical staff from the country.
The Lebanese Doctors’ Trade Union in Beirut and the North and the Union of Private Hospital Owners in Lebanon have called for a strike to protest against the policies of the Central Bank of Lebanon and the Association of Bank Owners towards hospitals, doctors, and health workers.
