The Austrian Ministry of the Interior announced that about 205 people are suspected of belonging to a human trafficking network operating in Central Europe. The arrest led to the confiscation of 80 cars. 92 arrests were made in Austria, while the rest were made in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania.
Investigators said more than 36,100 people, including Syrian children, may have travelled to Austria via Hungary. According to preliminary information, the network was able to earn around 152 million euros from its operations in recent years.
