HPC added in a statement that “the total size of unemployment amounted to 1.466 million people, a decrease of 68,000 unemployed at the national level, 52,000 in urban areas and 16,000 in rural areas.” As for graduates, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.9 points, from 19.8% to 18.9%.
At the regional level, the highest levels were recorded in the eastern region (20.2%) and the southern regions (6.19%). The other regions are above the national average (12.1%) which include the regions of Fez-Meknes (14.6%) and Casablanca-Settat (14.5%).
The lowest levels were recorded in the regions of Beni Mellal-Khenifra, Drâa-Tafilalet and Marrakesh-Safi, where they were, respectively, 9.4%, 9.0 %, and 6.8%.
