The International Organization for Migration of the United Nations (IOM) announced that about 900 people, including mothers with their children, arrived on March 30 at Addis Ababa International Airport from Saudi Arabia.
The organization mentioned that “about 750,000 Ethiopians are currently residing in the Saudi Arabia, and it is possible that about 450,000 have travelled to the Kingdom in irregular ways and will need assistance to return to their homes.” IOM mentioned the challenge posed by the return of 100,000 immigrants for the government and the organization.
According to IOM, over the past four years, the Kingdom has returned nearly 352,000 Ethiopian migrants.
