In a tweet, the General Federation of Oman called on the Ministry of Labour to open an investigation into the circumstances of the accident in order to verify the proper application of work safety measures by the companies operating the quarries.
The city of Ibri, in the northwest of the country, is known for its quarries, which recruit migrant workers, mainly from Asia.
