The trade union office of the company, affiliated with the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT), mentioned in a statement, that “the party in charge of liquidating the company, did not provide a clear answer on the suspension of the payment of salaries and the payment of contributions to pension funds, and other rights in the collective agreement, with clarification of the unknown fate of the company.”
It is worth noting that Samir is the only refinery in Morocco. It works in refining crude oil imported from abroad. It ceased activity in 2015 and has been in the process of judicial liquidation since 2016.
