In its note on the main characteristics of the employed population in 2021, the HCP indicated that the employment rate of young people aged 15-29 years is maintained at 25.4% between 2020 and 2021, it is 2.8 points below its pre-crisis level, or 28.2% in 2019. The employment rate of 30-44 year-olds has risen slightly by 0.4 percentage points to 54.8%, compared with 56.8% one year before the health crisis.
The distribution of employed persons by sector of activity shows that the service sector is in first place with 4 935 000 persons, followed by agriculture, forestry and fishing with 3 364 000 persons, industry with 1 261 000 persons and, finally, construction with 1 210 000 persons.
