Palestine: Work permits do not guarantee workers’ rights in the occupied territories

According to the same source, the occupation forces have started issuing work permits in the past two weeks in the name of the economic needs of Gazans. However, these permits do not guarantee the rights of these workers, unlike those in the West Bank.

The newspaper added that although they have eased the procedures for Gaza workers, these permits have increased the gap between West Bank and Gaza workers.

It is worth noting last October, Israel increased the number of work permits granted to Gaza Strip residents to 10,000 merchants instead of the usual 3,000. This increase was aimed at calming the security situation and preventing further military escalation. This is the largest number of work permits granted since the beginning of the second Intifada.
