According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the number of Omanis working in the private sector in 2021 increased by 4.7% compared to 2020, from 254,754 to 266,799 Omani workers.
Construction ranks first among the sectors employing the most Omanis, followed by wholesale and retail trade and automotive repair.
