Iraq: Report: Daily-wage workers demand permanent contracts

The Iraqi Observatory for Workers’ and Civil Servants’ Rights has published its 6th report for the period 1 September to 31 December 2021.

Identifying a number of violations against workers in Iraq, the report recorded several protests organised by dismissed daily-wage workers. It cited the case of 600 dismissed workers from the Oil Pipelines Company, noting that several other workers in this category are demanding permanent contracts in accordance with the Ministerial Decision No. 315. The report also indicated that several protests and strikes have been organised because of unpaid salaries.
