Around 224 daily-wage workers from the port of Aqaba (Aqaba Container Terminal – ACT, of the IBMT company), protested in front of the Parliament on 16 January against the administration’s refusal to negotiate their contract.
The workers, who have been on strike for two months, declared that they intend to continue their protest until their demands are met.
It is worth noting that ACT signed an agreement with the trade union party in 2014 to make daily-wage workers permanent after two years of service.
