After a call by the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers (CGTL), hundreds of workers gathered in Martyrs’ Square in central Beirut to protest against compulsory vaccination.
The president of the CGTL explained that compulsory vaccination restricts the freedom of public sector workers, calling on the government to cancel the decision and initiate a dialogue with the opposing parties.
A ministerial committee suggested that public sector workers can receive two doses of vaccination, or can have a laboratory examination (PCR) twice a week, starting on Monday 10 January 2022.
