Remittances from migrants living in Qatar witnessed an increase of 10.7% in the first nine months of 2021.
According to data from the Qatari Central Bank, migrant remittances reached about 30 billion Qatari riyals (end of September 2021).
Qatar employs more than 1.1 million migrant workers, mainly in the construction, service, hospitality, and retail sectors. The majority of these workers are of Asian nationality.
