Since the middle of last November, workers in the Environment, Plants, and Horticulture Company in Kebili had several protests. The workers went to Douz, Arkoub, where they had tents near an oil pipeline.
Salah El-Twati, a member of the regional trade union, declared to a tv show that the workers’ protests are legitimate. They work in poor conditions and do not receive their salaries on time. He, also, mentioned that the current protest is an escalatory move.
The authorities, including the regional council, ignored the workers’ demands and classifying the company and the ministry to which it belongs.
