On December 14, 1,000 workers in two private sector companies benefited from two collective work contracts with the Ministry of Labour.
The Minister of Labour, Nayef Stetieh, the Director of Labour Relations in the Ministry, Adnan Al-Dahamsheh, the CEOs of Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (Joramco), the company and the head of the General Union of Electricity Workers, Ali Al-Hadid, and the head of the General Union of Air Transport and Tourism Workers, Youssef Kenab, were present.
Adnan Al-Dahamshe claimed that “the Directorate of Labour Relations in the Ministry is working to solve labour disputes, enhance stability and job security in the private sector by building good working relationships between the three production parties, provide a positive work environment in institutions, and supervise work contracts. Labour disputes can undergo 4 phases to be solved.”
The ministry will mediate the disputes. The first phase includes the conciliation delegate from the ministry. In the case the dispute is still not solved, the minister will interfere in the second phase. The third phase will include a council of conciliation chaired by the minister. The last phase will pass to the labour court.
