The regional general-secretary of the Sousse Trade Union announced that the regional administration body, meeting on December 12, decided to launch a regional general strike on January 13, 2022, which was previously postponed, on May 20, 2021 and in June 2021.
The meeting addressed the difficult economic situation in the region particularly in the tourism sector and industrial sector including the milk factory in Sidi Bouali that was closed down.
The general-secretary explained that the strike is a cry for help from the region’s citizens. He, also, warned against the authorities’ indifference to their demands and holds them responsible for the current situation.
