Five hundred temporary workers at the Ministry of Social Affairs have not received their salaries for six months. Some of them have been working in the Ministry for about 25 years.
The delays in payment started two years ago. The first delay was for three months, while the second was for eight months. Currently, salaries have not been paid for 6 months. The salaries of some of these workers do not exceed two million and two thousand Lebanese pounds. The employees have not received their transport allowances since July.
The Ministry of Social Affairs reaffirmed that the payment schedules have been deposited with the accounting services, which denied the information, noting that the ministry must send the schedules to the Ministry of Finance.
