In a symposium on social dialogue, the climate, and the decrease in the production of hydrocarbons and phosphates, in Hammamet, the Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), Noureddine Taboubi, declared that an agreement on the increase of salaries in the private sector will be signed, despite the economic crisis.
The Secretary-General said that COVID-19 had negative impacts on economic institutions and workers alike. The increase is necessary, in this regard.
It is worth noting that some figures indicate the bankruptcy of thousands of institutions in Tunisia, whose economy is based on small and medium-sized enterprises.
